BWIT members received Australia Awards Fellowship University of Southern Queensland May 2017
Australia Awards Fellowship Application for Round 16, titled Empowering Women through Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation in Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri-Lanka has been successful! The grant paid for the costs associated with the return flights from Dhaka, Bangladesh to Brisbane Australia, flights within Australia and fellow’s accommodation costs in Australia. Participants from seven organizations inform Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka will partake in the program. Three of our members were selected; Farhana Rahman Vice President BWIT, Rezwana Khan, Secretary General and Tauhida Haider, Joint Secretary.
The fellowship provided an opportunity for nominated fellows to engage in a 3-week capacity building program in Australia. The course content provided an innovative and comprehensive program that brings together academic rigour, industry workshops and meetings with entrepreneurial leaders in Australia. The program commenced on 8 May 2017 in Brisbane. The program was conducted across six locations in Australia: Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, Melbourne, Sydney. Toowoomba and the Gold Coast. DFAT will also fund post program sustainability of initiatives which will enable the team to continue with some follow up activities post program in your home countries.
